Just bought a 1994 w124 (suprise suprise the cat rattles)
but the alarm was not working and
would just keep going off all the time for no apparant reason.

To cut an expensive story short it was the interior light.
The light was working on all settings except for door triggered
and as it was half broken was acting as a current drain
thus sensed by the alarm.

Mercedes had said they had never seen this before (hmm)
so keep it in mind!

Where was the wire broken? Some 'natural' wear spot? or apparently random?

I ask as my light behaves the same way and I'm wondering where to look for the break...
