I've been given a price of £200 from the stealers. They advised that the Fan, Housing, and Regulator needing replacing at the cost of £689.00 including vat and labour. I then asked had their tested the fan & Regulator independently the reply was in their experience both units tended to go together (in another word NO). Any way got the car home took out the fan and volt tested it to find the Regulator was at fault. Well the fan was out I cleaned the fan motor and cheeked the brushes (still a good 3-4 years in them) and tested it with 12v worked a treat. Needless to say this was the last time my car will see the inside of a MB garage. And why for the life of me should I replace the metal housing?

Where did you get the Regulator because even if they bring the price down I?m not giving my local stealer another penny of mine?

The plot thickens I?ve now been told Mercedes have modified the part and I need to purchase the entire unit. I think there is a conspiracy to stop me getting warm.

This sounds a load of bull to me any opinions.

Has anybody come across this before?

I only want to be warm in my car.
