Hi,
New to this forum and was wondering if any of you guys could help.
I have just purchased an 05 C200 CDi Diesel and over the last couple of days a fault has arose.
When you turn on the ignition it reads Coolant Visit Workshop and the fans are staying on whilst ignition is on.
When it comes to cars I am quite clued up but obviosly it could be a sensor down I have checked the coolant level which is fine, top and bottom hoses are hot and I have changed the plug in sender unit on the header tank but this didn't help.
The dash says 1 Malfunction when I disconnect the sender on the header tank it says 2 Malfunctions so I presume it isn't that as the temp gauge is still working.
I am not too sure if it could be down to the tempreture sender on the front of the engine block ???? I have disconnected this and it doesn't register any further malfunctions.
Any Ideas before I have to go to the dreaded main dealer. The car is only out of warranty by 3 weeks.
I do work in a garage but the mechanics are pretty clueless when it comes to this sort of stuff as they dont work on many of these cars.
Cheers,
Martin
