I dont know how common this problem with skipping on backup cdr's is, but the guy down the road at my local car audio place says its with all of the new mercs as a form of copy protection? he may of course just be trying to get me to buy a new headunit from him..who knows.. anyway
i found a way to write discs that seems to work everytime so far..
Description of Problem - Constant skipping on audio disks you have written yourself on the Audio 10 headunit & (maybe others)
1) Download the free version of deepburner from www.deepburner.com and install it..this is more than enough for what we are doing, the pro version isnt required.
2) Create a new Audio CD
3) Ensure the 'CD Image' Tab is selected, and right click in the main window and select the 'Add track(s) to layout option'
4) Choose the music (mp3's etc) that you wish to add to the CD
5) Select the 'Burn Disc' Tab, and ensure the 'Write Method' is set to the default option of 'Session At Once'
6) Change the 'Write Speed' Option to 4x or lower if you wish (The lower the speed, the more reliable the disk usually)
7) Hit the burn button.
That should be all. Note that whilst it does take a while longer to burn, it has produced 100% Fine results, making a Audio CD how i used to (defaults in Nero and lowering the speed in it) has never worked on my Audio10 yet, so im happy, definatly worth a try!
I hope this may help some others on here, if you try this, please do let me know if it has solved your problem too!
Best of luck!, Steve
