Four months of a mercedes A-class is more than enough on a scale of 1to10

A-CLASS 0
Mercedes Direct 1 (for the coffee)
Mercedes Workshops 0
Mercedes head office 0 (what a pity there are these things called customers)

So with the burden of MB ownership in the past Back to FORD at least they
keep running

I know where your coming from mate! MB have not lived up to my standards (and they are not that high). Sorry you feel that the only way out is back to a ford. MB take note - there goes another customer through a care less attitude

It's a shame that so many people seem to feel this way. I guess we didn't have our Mercedes long enough to get fed up with it. I thought it was a very beautiful car and our VW Golf isn't a patch on it when it comes to looks and comfort.

Had a call from them yesterday to see how I was getting on after 6 months. To be honest, I have no complaints, the car hasn't missed a beat over the last 11,000 miles. Promised to call me again in another 6 months.

Sounds like they are slowly getting the message though too slow and patchy for this case.

I think some stealerships are better than others when it comes to customer care. We bought our Mercedes from Swindon and they were very helpful and did phone us a few weeks after we bought the car to see if we were happy with it. Our local stealership however is in Watford and when we had to take it in for a new supercharger, fitted under warranty, they were unhelpful and very slow. In fact I've heard countless people tell me how bad Mercedes Watford are

I assume that Ford have improved.

I have used a ford dealer twice but not for a long time. The first time they serviced my car. The only thing they actually did was write me an invoice and break the expansion tank. The second time, I went in looking for an escort cabrio. They didn't have one and weren't interested in selling me one.
I guess it doesn't matter as much though when the prices aren't as daft.

My brother hasnt been at all impressed with his A-Class (bought new) or service he's obtained and he keeps on pestering me to buy the ML (on the cheap, no doubt.... what are families for ;) ) so he can ditch the A-class and be a 2 (his and her) 4x4 family!!!

The ML, bought from Cragside in Harrogate, just wanted the cash and couldnt care less thereafter (never had 1 call or followup, except the invite to a 4x4 course, from Merc UK). Needless to say, they never got any further business.

Mercedes here in Germany seem very good. Stuttgart, where I sorted out the purchase of the C-Class, were very very good, bending over backwards and following up after delivery. The service centre here in Düsseldorf are very friendly and helpful, mind you they charge a fair whack!

Fiat on the other hand (Halifax), are even worse. Can guarantee when the motorhome goes in for its yearly service, it wont come back this side of a week!

Its becoming common practise, from what little UK exposure I get these days, to have a bad attitude towards customers, take Vodafone, BT or O2 for example, there business practise seems to be based on bad service (from my experience) with the general attitude that when you get p'd off, you jump ship to a competitor and they know full well that a customer of the competitor will jump ship to them, because there also getting bad service!
