Hi all,

My car is due it's NCT (national car test) in two weeks. I have noticed however that the car ticks over at 1000rpm when in park or neutral. I have the car less than a year. It has 137k miles. I was thinking pahaps if i changed the sparkplugs (and maybe the leads if i can source them). I found NGK plugs on sparkplugs.co.uk for less than £2 each. Do you think this would help get the revs down?

regards

Dave

No sorry this would not alter the Idle RPM, the throttle body air flow plate may be gummed up and in need of a clean, or reset on STAR

I would have thought when the dealer had the car last week to check for an electrical problem the computer was reset (i dont have an airbag light on anymore after getting it back)

Can I clean the "throttle body air flow plate" myself or is that best left to someone who actually knows whaat they are doing??
