Fast speed wiper is not!!

Hi .

The front wiper on our W124 230te is ok on intermittent and normal speed,but on fast speed it seems to have a fit and goes all over the place.
Any ideas

It can be very rapid indeed, is it leaving the usual area that it normally sweeps when in normal speed?
I rarely use the fast speed as I find it quite scary.
All depends on what you mean by “goes all over the place “

You could take a look at post #17 here
Open the motor and inspect the nylon gear, if all is well with that you will need to remove the mechanism to check out the linkage.
The link is for a W202 but yours will be similar.
Avoid using the fast speed for the time being.

Forgot to mention, be sure to lubricate the wiper mechanism as soon as you can, if your problem is striped nylon gears, lubricate the wiper mechanism may ease the problem and slow down the possibility of the fault appearing in the intermittent/normal speeds.
At least you have normal wipers for the time being.
