Fault B1076

Hi..ok so just bought my 2002 sl500..as per my previous thread in introduce my self the alarm keeps going off when I lock the car..
It has now been plugged in and giving fault code B1076..Fault in can communication with control unit rear sam..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as the garage stated it could need replacing at a cost of £800..

Is that a Mercedes independent stating that replacement is required ?

An approved garage...so yes an independent

Do you have water in the boot? Or passenger footwell (under the carpets)
