2005 C220 CDI W203
I have a 2005 C220 CDI W203, 92000miles. A couple of days ago the EML came on, my mate plugged in his modis and the only fault code showing was fault code - 2577 - Zero quantity calibration injector of cylinder 4. I have tried to find more details about this fault but I am unable to find anything about the fault yet alone the fault number. He cleared the fault but it came back couple days later. the car drives fine, no issues at all. any help would be greatly appreciated:):):)

better to find yourself a local specialist with STAR to diagnose the issue, it will probably be excessive leak off but STAR will give you a true Mercedes code and will give direction on what needs to be done.

Your not a million miles away from Southampton so you could try MBS who will certainly look after you well

autel kit gives EXACT same wording and fault codes as STAR

C220 CDI W203
Hi all
Just had the exact same problem on my C220/W203 CDI. I tried clearing the code but it would keep coming back. Eventually I took it to an indy Merc specialist. He told me its one of those rare faults that come up once in a while. The fault readers indicate that #4 injector has a problem with it., (Zero calibration blah blah blah), sounds scary and expensive!! Bear in mind the injector is just an electrical solenoid. It seems that something can "spike" the ECU and log a false fault. He cleared the fault and re-assigned the #4 injector within the ecu software..so far so good! If the injector was bad, then you would have rough running and lumpy tickover, but I suspect in both our cases the engine was running fine. A sure way would be to swap over say #4 injector with # 1 injector and see what happens. If the fault then shifts to #1 then of course it's a bad injector. Do bear in mind that these diesel system cleaner additives will only treat the mechanical side of things, they will not clean sort out the electronics that fire the injectors. The cost to repair..£35 + vat and a good drink to the the chap who sorted it!!

One final point..It seems that some garages want to rip Merc owners off for fault code reading....I have had quotes from £25 Kwik Fit..up to £85...+vat!!!
I would say that for 35minutes labour £40 for a specialist who knows what he is doing is about right.

Hi All - just had to ask at my local Merc dealer to check some fault warning lights on my Viano - and the receptionist said - it's £170.00 for 'Triage' - when I picked myself up from the floor - I declined the offer. But this was together with paying £100 for an ABS sensor I later found the same item on ebay at £16.00. Makes you wonder why we buy Mercedes.............
