Fault codes

[Sl500 2003]

Hi all, I had car looked at today as boot vacuum is not working, roof flaps on passenger side is fully loose, roof not opening.

Srs light is on. I am talking to person who installed audio recently. Just to check if has had these issues before.

Recently had a new aux battery put in and audio upgrade.

I paid for Mercedes expert to reset codes.he claimed due to audio install a cable must be left out that is why Srs lights remain on. Which is a valid point I thought.

I spoke to audio installer who was happy to come and have a look at car again and his work just in case left
Something out or a blown fuse.

but before he even came I went to mates garage who had a Snapon generic diagnostics tool. He was able to reset in a minute with out any issue at all.

Srs light is off, boot vacuum working and roof is opening and closing like normal.

I will be going to Mercedes specialist tomorrow just to Ask him why his special priced diagnostics could not do a simple reset but a mate who didn’t charge was able to with a generic kit.
