my hirshman 6000ke aerial stopped working my dealer wants £100 to replace the whole unit but it is the electronic module that is at fault (the motor rises &falls by reversing the polarity) can any one tell me if the unit can be repaired or bought separately ta!

i had a problem with the antenna on my w124, all was ok but one of the cogs inside the motor housing was broke, there was no way i wanted to pay to get a whole new unit.
I got in touch with hirsmann HQ, and asked them for an IPL.
I then got in touch with Hirschmann UK they dont direct deal with the public nor do they deal in much antenna stuff, but told me to contact this company

http://www.signocom.co.uk/......... eventually I got the smallest parts i needed. If you look hard enough you will succeed

If i was you, first get in touch the tech dept of hirschmann.com, ask them to send you an IPL of your antenna so you have the part number.

then on to signocom, you will speak to emma, she is very pleasant and helpful.

If it's the controller that simply switches polarity based on a switched live from the radio, and the motor is fine, I'd have thought you could buy a simple 12v relay box from Maplin or Motorsave that would do the same job.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
Control /Timer modules are also available from CPC at around £12-£14.

If you need special parts and know what they are, I may have in stock.
