New to this but happily not MB. Had a w123 saloon which ran forever, then some other (lesser) cars and then w124 280 estate manual (sound) but rust got the better of her. Recently VW but not the same so back to another 280 w124 estate 94 in last three months. Had the main mechanics sorted out and all was good.

Also had a new cd/radio fitted but heater* has just decided to pack up. To be precise it works for about 20 minutes well and then just stops - not great at the moment obviously! Can anyone help? Got dual control with air con - three vertical buttons, windscreen (?) EC and a recirculation at the bottom. Not sure if it's the blower, the radio's been wired on the heater circuit and shouldn't have been, blower has gone, CD player which chucks out a fair amount of heat is too near the sensor?
* Air con too

Hello and welcome,, the fan on the heater works irrespective of any air con or heat, so when you start up your have the different speeds of the fan, does the fan stop completely on all settings

Hi there and thank you for warm and speedy response. If car is left for a long time/overnight fan starts from cold and runs c20mins, but yes, stops/nothing on all settings after that. I did think maybe we had blown the fuse because of the defrost setting which ran for a while but checked it and was ok. Then mysteriously started again (for a while) next day. And so on, radio clicks a bit... which might be nothing?

Thanks for all the help. It wasn't the brushes in the end, it was a dodgy contact on the fuse itself (!) and the contact in the fuse box. Must have run too hot sometime in the past and damaged itself. Had some fun finding the weak point as replaced fuse as first job. Anyway all now good, rewired and sorted (hopefully) ...

So where is best place for buying a couple of new w124 fuses please? And rubber window trim/lining?
