Hi, I have a C200K 2001 and the Audio 10 CD player has recently become faulty. The display comes on and it appears that the radio tunes in but there's no sound. The same occurs when I insert a CD.

Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd really appreciate some assistance.

Cheers
Alan

The Loudspeaker plug may have come out, they are a tight fit though and its unusual for them to come out. If it is not the plug out, then the Output stage has gone down and it will have to go to a repairer.

I hope you're not thinking of going to the dealer!
they will simply take it out and send it to the local car stereo repairer, then take their charge, add their own cut and bill you accordingly - assuming they don't simply try to flog you a new Audio 10!.
Cut out the middle man a just take it straight to a local repairer. All towns have a few and if you're not sure, ask your dealer who they use. Most will tell you if they aren't getting the work anyway.

J Berks,
Thanks for the advice I will contact my local Car Audio shop to see if they can help. I have to admit I don't like the main dealer not only are they a rip off but I also have little confidence in their ability. They recently failed to notice that my rear Coil spring had fractured even though I told them about the loud knocking noise!

The local garage spotted it straight away.

Cheers
Alan
