Have scanned the posts on the SRS light but would like confirmation on my thinking from you guys if thats ok?

The problem is that the SRS light comes on as well as the air bag 'off' light when my husband sits in the passenger seat - does not happen when he's not in there.

My question is do you think its the child seat sensor or does my car just not like my husband? (she is a merc of course and therefore has impeccable taste!  )

Anyway what ever it is how much do you think it would cost to repair and is it something that I can do myself? (maybe blonde but quite practical with stuff)

Any help gratefully received ! :D

The ONLY way to guide you where the probelm lies is to get the fault codes read.

Hi there, have got the same on my 51 plate w210. It has just been into my local indy and he has diagnosed a faulty pressure sensor (senses someone sat in the seat). The replacement pad is about £150 + fitting

This happened on my 12.00 ML and it has started on my 04 A-Class.

Firstly, look under the passenger seat, unplug the connector, spray with contact cleaner and re-seat, see if it helps. If not then its pretty sure its the pressure pad, which is a seat out job and replace. Fairly simple, but I let the dealer do it on my ML as it was only ~200quid all in.

As BlackC55 mentioned, getting the codes read out helps, but I have full diagnostics and got differing codes when the ML seat played up. As per GoNikki, it only ever happened when a passenger was sat in the seat, and would continue to happen for an hour or two after the passenger got out. Same for the A-Class, only when a passenger occupies the front seat.
