Grateful for any suggestions with a fuel guage problem before I have to take it to a dealer.
2000 CLK 230K - fuel guage needle sometimes sticks on empty and most times sticks on full. The computer read out is showing a full tank along with a full tank range of miles. The other counters (ie reset and from start indicators are counting as normal as is the odometer). I would suspect it is the sender unit in the tank, but I do not know how to get to it or how to change it when I do find it. Would be most grateful for any guidance from any experts out there in cyberspace.
A Happy New Year to all my readers.

Hi, I had the same problem on my CLK 230 cab and took it to the dealer and they replaced sender unit in tank under warranty, but they did say at the time it would be arounfd £70 plus labour. Sorry I can't help with regard to location and replacement. However, it didn't take long for the garage to replace it! :D

Thanks for reply, out of interest was your CLK still under warranty or was it done as a good will gesture beacause I believe that this is a very common fault.
best wishes
Mick
