FAULTY OIL SENSOR LIGHT CHANGED 4 TIMES

I need a quick but qualified answer as to why despite numerous Oil Sensors being fitted to my e430 I am still having this fault appear on my dashboard.

The garage says it is NOT DETREMENTAL to the engine..but i an begining to have my doubts.

Can you advise before I take action against the garage.

It may not affect the running of the engine but if you ever have an oil failure you will have nowarning, only a blown engine. The warranty will not apply because you drove the car with a faulty sensor. Sit on them, the car is not fit for purpose. Four times is adequate patience. If they cannot fix it they either take the car back or give you a lifetime warranty against an oil failure wrecking your engine. I had problems too that they could not fix so they told me the knocks were normal!! Telling you it won't harm the engine is taking you for a mug and abdicating their responsibility. You get an oil failure and then an engine seizure overtaking you are risking life.
You need to see a solicitor.

You could have a faulty computer, I had oil sensor problems too and they could not work it out. One day it was a faulty sensor, the next time it was reprogram the computer. You need to check if they did actually replace the sensor at all on the four occasions. While you are at it check before you take the car back that they have not damaged the brake pipes at the ABS/ESP unit. They bust mine while replacing the sensor and that's now the subject of serious litigation.

This may also seem simple but its worth checking the level manually to see that they are puttung in the right level of oil
