Well, i have finally purchased a W211 280 Avant Garde 07, with full leather and factory parking sensors

Thanks to all of you who have replied to my questions so far

May sound a strange question but mine seems to have 6 gears, i thought they were 7 speed?

6 plus D gives you 7.

On a motorway or any decent fast road you'll be able to change down and it will say 6th, meaning it's dropped from 7th.

You do only have 6 gears, if you use [C]omfort mode, as the car starts in second gear.

hi worth checking that the oil in g box has been done changed I mean ,you will find that I found that the 7g needs to be driven with ease on acc pedal as heavy foot can produce turbo codes enjoy the car good luck

It had Merc History to 30K (no transmission service in this time, then the servicing was carried out by Alan Lamb Mercedes specialists. There weren't any receipts and the book is only stamped (no ticks against what has been done) so i will be calling tomorrow to check further.

After driving a few this one felt smooth.

If it hasn't had a service i will get it done, is it better to do this at a main dealer?

I have heard of them but I cannot comment one way or the other, I believe they have a good name
