What problem are you experiencing?
If you getting the BAS, ESP & ABS warning lights up then the most common (by miles) source is the brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal.

IT seems every now and again if you travel over a heavy bump or apply the break the lights come on and and car becomes unresponsive but as soon as you turn it off and on again its fine and the lights go out

Should be just the brake light switch. standard fault, easy to change.
