Hi everyone,
Having recently purchased a 1993 vintage 280E, I've been going over it to see what needs doing - and the answer seems to be, "not much"
One thing I had noticed, though, is a lot of wind noise from the driver's door. A contemporary Autocar road test mentions that thicker door glass was fitted on these later W124 models - so out came the vernier calipers!
Sure enough, the driver's door glass is considerably thinner than that on the passenger side, so I assume that the driver's side was (incorrectly) replaced at some point.
So, can someone tell me if the same glass was also used in later 'E-Class' W124's - or was it specific to these '92-'93 'crossover' cars?
Thanks,
David
