Hi all,

Just got my E class serviced for the first time since we've brought it (from MB direct). It was on 37,000 and required a B service. Its a 2001 E200 Kompressor. The bill came to £135 for labour and £304 for MB parts, so a total of £439. Do you lot think that is reasonable, its a garage in west london called Virdee Auto's. They were great and ive only heard good things about them. Other than usual things to be changed/serviced, there was the a tie rod end & kompressor belt. Im fairly sure what these parts are, but can anyone make it clearer for me.

All in all a good service though, the car is much more quieter, swifter and drives like brand new, highly reccomended place... great customer service with friendly staff.

So you had the oil and filter, plus one tie rod end and a belt. £304 seems a lot for those items or am I wrong.

Good labour price though, or are they the wrong way round?

Malcolm

I'm not Malc, I'm Clint Eastwood, the man with no name.
Seriously though, my bosses look at this forum & would'nt like the thought of me giving anyone advice, hence the no name, no location. Its annoying when you see a local in trouble but I'm not risking it, they're a funny bunch.

I have removed it Clint, I think that this is also one of the conditions of working for MB that you must not belong to these forums, interesting though on the Yahoo group Volvo forum the have a guy out in the open that gives out all of the inside advice.

The price seems fine to me. In an MB Dealership the B service on its own would have been £450, plus the extra work on top.

If you're happy with the job and the people who did it then why worry?

Just one of the penalties that goes with the job. Im with an indie and the other side of the world, so dont have to worry. However if the Boss found out he would probably come up with some new money making idea - ie his own company web where I would have to give all the answers. Theres a lot to be said about working for yourself. Most of the ex MB guys here have their own business and are doing very well.
