Just bought an E280 (W211) having decided to get myself a comfortable car for my impending retirement. So far, so good. This is my second Mercedes, the first one was not a success, unfortunately. I owned a very worn out Vauxhall Omega Estate, which I absolutely adored, I was convinced that it wouldn't pass another MOT, and as we were going on a European camping holiday later in the year, we wanted a reliable replacement. I chose the Mercedes C200 Estate (Sport) from eBay, and then put the Vauxhall in for it's Mot so that I could list it's faults... A replacement windscreen wiper later and I suddenly had two cars with full MOTs! I decided to sell the vauxhall and use the C200 for the holiday. The Merc was a dog and only just managed to get us back home from France. So, got rid of the Merc and bought another Omega. I drove this until it would not go any further so decided that I would try another Mercedes as any Omega would now be "past it's Sell-by date". So far I am well pleased. Only time will tell.

I believe that mine is a facelift model. It's an Elegance on an 06 plate, and it has a small blue badge on the Radiator grill in front of the bonnet star.

06 is probably pre-facelift - not sure if any before 56 reg

Do you have the chrome surrounds on the foglights with 2 bars on the side of them?

And I don't know where I imagined the badge on the grill.... That must have been on one of the other cars that I looked at before settling on this one, because it's no longer there!!!!!!

Pre-facelift comes with an SBC pump under the bonnet.

Welcome 211's are nice cars I have a 212. Never really liked the Omega, but the 24 valve Senator before it that was a great car. Drove them for as few years in the police.
