Fitted Luggage

I came across some fitted luggage for my SLK R170 today called Roadsterbags. I searched and was surprised that no one on the forum has mentioned them previously. Anyhow, just thought I'd ask if anyone has them but are keeping quiet.

There's a few companies flogging them for some SL, SLK and CLK models (and non-MB if you're that way inclined) if you're interested - just google.

I bought a set on e-bay for my SL500. They were a good fit but the quality wasnt great. They would not take "normal" treatment by airport baggage handlers. For a weekend away driving they were fine. I think I paid about £40 for the set new and they were about £200 on the roadster website. Dont pay top dollar for them and you wont be disapointed!

I find Asda bags slightly more durable but I'm sure Tesco ones are fine. If I had an SL I would go to Sainsbury's though...!

Do you guys both have the "curry Hook"? This saves a big mess on the carpet and stops your prawn crackers from getting crushed.

The roadster bags are for the boot of the car not for behind the seat as with the over expensive MB option for the SL.

I find a cardboard box helps the curry cartons stand up properly and is reasonably absorbent if the driving gets a bit too enthusiastic.

Sorry PaulMdx, I've just noticed that your car is a 170. They are even cheaper some sets on www.ebay.de starting at one Euro!
