I am fitting alloy wheels from a 2003 mercedes onto my 2000(X) 320 CDi
The wheel flange on the "new" wheels is thinner and consequently the front tyres touch the shockers. I am assuming that I need to fit spacers BUT 3mm, 4mm, 6mm???? and what length of bolt will I need.
I can't be the first driver to face this problem, but it feels like it.
Any ideas????

Hello and welcome,, first you need to know the ET of the wheels that you took off the car, and the ET of the new wheels,,you can only use spacers that are hub centric and they are expensive.

The ET is cast into on of the spokes on the rear of the wheel

As Malcolm says, you are fitting wheels with a different offset (ET) to the originals.
Best to get the correct offset wheels than fit spacers in my opinion.
