I may be daft, but it seems to me that Comand has a screen... therefore is there any reason why someone can't fit a reversing camera to that screen in some way??

I know the comand has an AUX input - I don't know if that is just for sound or if it's for vision as well??

Has anyone tried this?

There are problems in that the vision is blanked when the car is in motion, you can get an interface £100 that fools it into thinking that you have a TV installed, and you could use the video input on that.

Aha - but I DO have TV installed, although you are right, it turns off when I go above 3mph (ish)

I'd only need that adjusted to turn off at say 10 mph and all would be well then??

So I wonder who'd know how to do this, and of course the cost - the cameras are only about £15 on eBay, but labour to do it??

...to be honest I'd forgo the TV if I had to as well as it's totally RUBBISH - the picture is almost always dreadful. So if I had to disconnect the tuner I would as long as I could reconnect it at resale.

you could add this via the TV tuner or via a video input box if you dont have Tv quite easily. i put in a DVD player that output standard RGB wires to comand.

Excellent.

And I don't mind if the pic goes over 3/4mph as I'm only going to be driving pretty slowly if I need the camera to see how close I am to stuff....

So will I need a PAL or NTSC camera (I assume PAL), and if for example they are routing around behind there, I guess I could get them to fit a DVD player in the boot at the same time as i'll have to run the wire from the camera thru from the back anyhow.

Thank you for all your input - anyone done it??

The TV has two video inputs on it, AV1 and AV2 you can plug a camera into these and it will work, and very simple to plug straight into the RCA jack then you just have to push the TV button to have it up on screen
