To a C280 est, can this be done as I miss not having one I would prefer to have the type with glass top slide and tilt, but the type you can "slide" the "cover" back to reveal the glass first.

The cost of doing this would be to high, back in the seventies when vinyl roofs were the fashion is was easy to do, I used to buy ex police cars, mainly Jaguar XJ6's fit a sun roof and vinyl the whole top to hide the holes in the roof. the cost in your case would be several thousand pounds.
