Hi there,
experiencing a problem with my audio 10 head unit (problem posted elsewhere on forum) if i can't solve this problem i would be looking at fitting an aftermarket head unit, any advice on fitting this on a w210 e300 is there any adapter leads i need? etc... also is it possible to fit a head unit under the existing slot in the slot with the cover over it as a may be interested in getting a dvd head unit and lcd screen which would have to go in the original slot.
thanks.

I did answer your other post,, if you do fit another make or type,,you may have to cut pin 1 on the connector if you find that the speedo does not work as this can kill the speed signal, but if you fit a nav unit it will need this speed signal

If your CD unit is emitting the red fiberoptic light then the head unit may be OK,,I do not have one in stock at present to check

Hi thanks for your replys, not sure if i have been clear enough i know little about these units so don't know if i have the right information but from what i have read with the head unit pulled out of the centre console and the optical wire disconnected, switched on and the cd button pressed there should be a red optic out of the socket on the back of the unit if this info is correct mine is not doing so. thanks for the info on the possible speedo problem if i fit aftermarket could be useful to know, and thanks for your offer bigasotonuk but i think if i can't do a easy fix on my existing unit i will probably just buy an aftermarket unit as i do quite fancy being able to play mp3s etc...
