Now I have cleaned the ecu, and got the new seal and wiring housing / holder for the gearbox, my problem now is removing the old seal and refitting new one , any leads on here as to same or any of u technical guys able to point me in the right direction would be most appreciated ..as my missus is doing her nails at the moment and I dont wanna bother her with trivial things.

Turn the white plastic lug anti clockwise and this will expel the multi plug from the housing, have some sort of recepticle handy as you will lose some oil, not a lot but it makes a mess. then you will need a 7mm socket and short extension to remove the old housing, make sure you get the old seals which are red. then reverse the procedure with the new housing. I have just fitted one and it is a little fiddly if you don't have a ramp but it can be done. regards AA

hey thanks aa.. got it sussed and yup its fairly handy once uve done it, had a real problem fitting the new plug and seals the plug itself is a tight fit without the seals, so it would would seem to be a modified plug... was surprised the wiring loom plug seal didnt come with the housing and once again vaseline was a life saver

Hi extractorfan, you say you cleaned the ecu? were you able to open the ecu up and clean the inside. I ask as I had a look at mine and was able to clean the plug and the socket but did not try to open the ecu completely. regards AA
