is it possible to fit wheels with a slightly different pcd,say vauxhall wheels with a pcd of 5x110 to a merc with 5x112 as its pretty close? if so what are the effects/problems likely to occur?
You would be literally gambling with your life marshie001 (and others of course). Even if you WERE able to 'force' the studs through the holes in the wheel the uneven stresses set up around the wheelstud holes would be enormous, with eventual cracking inevitably occurring! PLEASE don't even think about taking chances with your wheels, of all things!marshie001 said:i beg to differ! it has been done, i just wondered what the effects (if any) would be?
i ask as ive been offered a merc thats had aftermarket alloys fitted that came from a vauxhall vectra (5x110)
I didn't know that Andy and find it hard to believe such things are available!andy_k said:you can get pcd adjustment bolts designed to take up small differences like this.
however, I'm not sure how legal they are in the UK

However, I 'rest my case'. The rest is now up to the jury.
