Fixed centre console catch on a SL R230

Just got a 2003 R230 for my wife and working through some issues. One was a latch on the centre console that wouldn't close. Appears removing the console and repairing latch can be time consuming and expensive. The issue with mine was the latch was over closed so wouldn't engage with the lid catch. So a bit of head scratching I managed to fix with a paper clip a drill and some glue and it worked well. I have attached some photos in case of interest

Sorry to hear that, but it would be nice to have a fully functional original clasp rather than this work around. I just couldn't face the strip down which seemed quite involved

It wasn't too hard a job Mike, just a few screws to undo and a couple of hidden ones which catch you out, thank goodness for google
