Fixing a physically damaged media player fascia!

Hi all
I really need advice/help to help me save money!
I am due to give my GLA back after having it nearly 2 years, it was a HP.
Last year I hung an air freshener in my car, it has totally damaged the fascia of the media player!
I’m very worried that when they come check it over I’m going to have a big charge for it.
Is there any way to sort this prior?
I am aware I could buy a new media player and have it fitted, but is there a cheaper option to restore this one?

Only option there is going to be a replacement part, that air freshener stuff is very corrosive. You may get lucky and find a second hand unit from eBay but it’s still not going to be a cheap fix

This is very strange never seen this before, I have seen you can get stickers to put over the top and you can get like a vinyl sticker to put over the top, you probably do it yourself if you ordered a sheet of Matt black vinyl

Oh my god this is great thank you!! I’ve seen the surrounds you can get but none for the numbers. I could give this a go before I take the plunge and get the whole thing replaced

It’s definitely worth a shot especially if you can buy yourself more time, plus If it’s not perfect as long as it’s not too obvious I don’t think they’ll pick up on it.

I hope this works out - if you bought the car used and it had a mark like that you'd probably settle for these stickers so if you manage a tidy job, the chances are it'll pass muster on a handover check - good luck with it!

They're a bugger to fit. I used them on an old Saab and they gave to be lined up perfectly or they look dreadful.

I’ve messaged the seller for the vinyls to see if they have the ones I need. Fingers crossed
