The wire frames to the lower part of the front seats in my 230 and 280SE need replacing. I have tried apparently good second hand ones and they are no better. The springs are not broken just saggy to sit in ... lost their spring ... after 30 years of service. Can these be heat treated to get their spring back? Has anyone tried this or got any ideas?

replacement part number 126 910 11 22 (very expensive! )

Thanks for any help...

I would have thought that your best bet is to look up an automotive upholsterers. It may not be as expensive as you think to replace the springs. They may even supply you them to try and fit yourself.

You could try something like tennis or squash balls pushed into the springs - will reduce the amount of compression.

I am new to the site so i am sorry if i am in the wrong discussion. My keyfob does not work and this is what unlocks my alarm and immobiliser. I can get into the car manually but the alarm goes off. I have tried disconnecting the battery and also checked the fuses but nothing seems to work. Batteries are one month old so it cant be them. I also took the keyfob apart but nothing looks broken on the ECU. i also do not have a spare key.

Can anyone help please?????????????

Repost this in the electrical section and also tell us what model and key it is.
