Hi folks

I'm sure I'm not alone. I'd stupidly not got my CTek charger connected to my Aux battery on my R230 when stored in my garage, it went stone dead and I'm guessing it was for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I've got it charged and alls well BUT I've not got a ESP warining in display and Yellow triangle. I've got the car SORN and till tax it in March, so will this warning go when the sensors see wheel movement etc. OR have I caused a deeper problem by letting the battery go flat ??

I've not got a MB spec OBD analyser, just a generic OBD one.

Any suggestions ?

The system should reset after the wheel has gone a few revolutions so I'd wait until March (unless you've a private drive long enough to run it up and down a few times?)

When ever I have had a flat battery or have removed the terminal's for any length of time I get the same message.
You will have to drive it to about 20 mph and it should reset. Same goes for the windows. ;)
Alternatively you can jack up the rear of the car and place on axle stands so that both rear wheels are clear and start the engine, select drive and run it to about the same speed if you are unable to drive on the road. Though not highly a recommended to do this as if you are not trained in this sort of activity can be too dangerous and certainly not recommended by anyone else on the forum.

With the fleet of Mercedes you have @wrightkarl wouldn't it be good to invest in an icarsoft MB2 ? you could reset with that as well....

Thanks folks, that seems almost too easy and sensible for Mercedes ! I'll keep the battery tenders on and see come March. I'd not checked for any other issues....windows are an easy one. If thats the worst of it for being wintered up I'll consider it a lucky escape lol

My old R129 was bullet proof in that way :¬)

Long story very short ....Years ago I "drove" my Astra on axles stands at road speed, it didnt take long to upset the ABS and put the warning light on - front wheels turning, rears not.
I suspect the same would happen in this case with the driven wheels being "driven" on stands.
