Flat Battery??

I got into my C220 this morning, put the key in, and found that the engine would not turn over and none of the electrics will come on, not even the interior light.

I last used the car 3 days ago, all was well and no sign of any issues.

I presume I have a flat battery, however no warning lights have displayed as the manual states there would be?

Just all seems a bit odd :?

Hello and welcome to the forum. The warning lights only indicate when there is a problem and the engine is running.

If you battery is 5 years old then change it before anything else, after 4-5 years one or more cells can go high resistant and the battery can just die over a couple of days.

you can charge it up,but it will do it again,If you change the battery do not buy a cheap one,make sure it is a good make.

Well i have changed the battery for one Halfords recommended was right for the car (they checked in both book and on computer), and it does seem to do the trick.

However, the new one is about 2 inches shorter than the one that came out (and my god did it take some work). The actual brackets does not seem to be adjustable (like they are in other cars). I presume that I either I need to get a bracket or it has to be packed in some way???
