Hello and welcome. under the bonnet on the firewall just towards the passenger side there is a black plastic panel that comes off and there are 2 terminals, just join a battery charger or 12volt onto the terminal and the locking will work and undo the boot, do observe polarity

I could use some advise on the flat battery issue. I haven't used my '02 S55 for about 2 to 3 weeks, prior to the snow that is. I just tried it today and the battery was flat (very flat, almost no reading on a voltmeter). I isolated the battery (large heavy duty job) and put a charger on it, but wondered what could have caused such a dramatic draining in so relatively a short time frame. Most of the electrical equipment has shut offs to prevent this from happening. There is an awful lot of stuff on this car and I'm not too sure where to start to locate the drainage source, once the battery is up to full charge. Any suggestions or help would be eagerly received.

Many people do not know the state of the charge of the battery when they stpped using the car.

The central locking could drain it as it can draw up to 40ma, and that is normal

Just charge it up, batteries do not like cold weather and it could be getting past its best at 4 years old or more
