My 320 cdi has a flat spot hesitation when cold or on its first drive of the day , it only does it once then is ok for the rest of the day , its quite harsh like its being turned off and on , there are no fault codes at all in the system , if somebody can help would be great thanks in advance.

The car holds a lower gear for longer in cold first drives to warm the “cats” faster , it’s strange when you first notice it . Not sure if this fits your symptoms

Try servicing the turbo actuator - the grease on the drive cogs can get heavily contaminated with carbon dust from the motor brushes. When cold this will be hard to move and will soften when warm. You can check the operation by watching the actuator arm move when you rev it. Cheap fix for a fault that is more common as they get older - if not then you need to start looking at the live values on something like STAR
