Feet area air control flap opens & closes several times on start-up
The car is a 2003 "C" Class 270 CDI.
There's a problem with the electrically controlled flap that opens and closes the air supply to the feet area.
When I turn on the ignition, the feet area heating vent opens and closes about 5 times and then stays either in the open or closed position. If it's closed and I want get heat in the feet area I cannot change it. It remains closed even if I try adjusting the interior heating controls - like switching between manual and auto or turning the right hand manual air-flow direction knob. This has no effect and the vent remains closed.
This is a real pain as on a cold morning because if it stays in the closed position, my feet get freezing cold!
Any ideas please?
