Iam about to change the oil+ filter in my car, recommended interval of 9k miles.
In previous invoices from my mercedes-benz dealer I noticed a consumable item
OIL FLUSH. I assume refers to the use of a flushing oil to clean out the system before putting in the new oil. Does anyone know if this is standard MB  practice  for longer oil change intervals? Is this practice  necessary/desirable or merely the icing on the cake. I see no mention of it in the service manuals.  If this is recommmended, who manufactures this flushing oil  and where can I buy it? thanks.

I would reccomend engine flush every 3 years if you are a frequent oil changer.... I change my oil every 2K.

here is a picture of both Engine and cooling system flush, you can buy this from nearly every car shop. Halfords sell it etc etc....
