There are supressors in the caps of the HT leads! I guess you could isolate each coil pack in turn and see if the clicking goes away. Just do it quickly to avoid cat damage.

Similar car (E240 estate 2000), original Audio 10 unit, interference 'tick' that varies with engine speed.

The problem in the old thread was traced to an HT lead, but I'd normally suspect a dodgy suppressor.

Anyone know which is more likely?

I think that there is a suppressor cap in the roof on C pilar, nearside.

If it is interfering with radios outside the car, you would have to look at the HT leads and things related to this.

When did you last change your leads or ignition bits?
