fog lamp lens change - 1999 w210

this is probably one for malcolm as ive just seen replacement front fog lamp lenses via his link to his website. the question is, how big a job are they to do, as ive never done one, and is it just basically a case of remove old glass and glue in new 1? and also does the lamp have to be removed or can it be done in situ?

The lamp comes out from behind,and the wheel arch liner need to be removed, not a hard job

ah right. good of you to flag them up in your signature then. think im going to order a lens at the weekend. seemed a good price, as id guess a new lamp would be about 40quid from local dealers! nice one. knew it wouldnt be hard, just wanted to know if it was essential to remove it. cheers

I can always send you a "how to" paper but hardly needed, you do not have to remove the whole wheel arch liner just the front bit, its easier on a ramp but very doable by jacking a little

When removing the liner and foglamp with car on the ground (as opposed to be on a ramp) it may help to remove the appropriate wheel as it makes the job alot easier.
