Does anyone know if my mirrors can be programmed to "fold on lock" through STAR diagnosis. No such option is available on my settings menu.
Also is there an audio warning option if seat belts are not fastened, in addition to the red warning light on the panel.
I suppose I could ask MB to check , but thought I would ask the experts here first :D

thanks

I think your car is too early for the fold on lock to be available.

Thanks Alfie,

guess I will have to keep pressing the fold button when I stop and lock the car :D

Do any Mercs have audio warnings when seat belts are not fastened ? I get fed up asking my daughters teenage friends to fasten there belts in the back before I move off.

cheers

Chas,

The autofold function came in with the face lift, late 2003, and no it cannot be programmed by the dealer even if you have the later instrument console. Apparantly the test is: if you press the fold button once and the mirrors fold in automatically, then it can be programmed. If you have to hold the button in for them to continue folding, then it can't.

The audio warning for seat belts also came in with the face lift.

Many thanks.

The function on mine is one touch , so I guess it can be programmed. :D Which menu on STAR gives the option, just in case the local MB guys can't find it

cheers

Interesting! I have a Jan 04 W209 CLK Cabriolet with one touch fold in and Hughes of Aylesbury said they couldn't be programmed to fold in on locking. :(

I used to be able to fold the mirrors with one touch. Lost that function when the dash was replaced under recall. Now have to hold button until mirrors are folded. Having said that the convenience menu now shows the option to auto fold although it does not work!

I am only going on what the dealer told me. I had my cluster replaced under warranty and of course there are all sorts of new options according to the menu. They can only be set up using the "star" equipment if the mechanical bits were in place on your model/year.

The MB technician told me that the auto mirrors were one of those options that were only available after 2003, but even then, if you had to hold the button down until the mirrors had folded, the option could not be programmed.

I hope this helps.
