Having had 270 clk for 3 years I decide it was time to try to get folding mirrors working . They adjust the glass but dont always fold.
The symptom is passenger mirror was loose but randomly is now locked in position and sometimes folds completely and opens but not always. It will close and only half open . Drivers side locked in position moves slightly most of time and occasionally half folds and wont unfold. Have sprayed WD40 in behind mirror and on pivot in case corroded but have not dismantled either one.
Has anyone managed to fix similar problem or is it replace whole units with pre owned . It is very hit and miss the way they work and I very tried them door closed car not driven so a loose wire does not seem an option as first 2 times n/s door mirror works 3rd time not, driver door same . Any suggestions on where to start.
