W211 2.8 cdi facelift 2006.
Just purchased a facelift e class 2007. Delighted with the car, just trying to find all the features on it and noticed that when I fold the mirrors only the passenger one folds. I cannot hear anything happening with the drivers side and even tried to manually fold it but seems solid. csn anyone give me an idea of what to do. Thanks.

First thing to do would be whip of the cover and and check there is voltage to the motor and that the mechanism is not seized (then lubricate).

Put the window down and operate the open close on the mirrors, through the window, do you hear anything at the motor or feel a vibrartion

If no voltage, check the fuse in the circuit.

The wires tend to break at the door hige due to opening and closing.

My 211 facelift had the same issue. Reset via the menu on the speedo readout all was fine

If I am correct, with that car you need to point the mirror down, there is a spring clip in the upper right that needs to pressed with a small thin screwdriver, the cover then slides off to the right.

But, please look on youtube or ask google

When you have fixed the issue I recommend turning off the auto fold option. I only fold my mirrors when I need to and not every time I lock and unlock the car.

Yeah, but it looks cool as, lol

My 208 has semi electric mirrors, I have to press the switch for them to.fold in. So annoying. Lol

Wait until you get a £250 invoice for a new wiring loom like I did, that wasn't cool

Good idea but you cant keep patching up broken wires.
if mine were to break tomorrow (the car is a 14 plate) & the repair lasted as long the original wiring, the car will be long gone. ;)

The 07 R Class I had before hand was still on its original loom & they were set to fold each time

Having been switching them open and closing a few times now the drivers side mirror is moving slightly in but won’t open again, have to manually push it. Haven’t worked out how to remove the cover so I can lubricate the mechanism. Will keep trying. Take it no point in spraying WD 40 behind the mirror glass.
