Have you looked at any convenience option in your handbook, it can be programmed by STAR

The problem with this is the dealers arnt supposed to programme it with the star.
There is a messege that comes up and says this is not to be done on 203. even though it is possible.
I belive it is to make the cars different be class, c-claas not as good as e-class etc.
and it causes wiring failure in the mirrors due to constant bending and straigtning.

For the Jan 04 model also? I have one touch button for folding and the Stealers say it can't be done although there are various posts here that says it is possible.

Some cars are questionable as whether they can be done before 06

Its dependant on the door controllers. It seems this is an issue through into the facelift also. we recently installed folding mirrors into a facelifted 2005, W203 only to find that the door controllers were a 2002 model! We are having to install new door controllers to get the mirrors to fold at all!

I do fold them in when i park at home by pushing the button (2 young kids with bikes) are you saying that this function should not be used. In the handbook it makes reference to a convienice setting which you can activate to fold when locking

I have a 2004 facelifted W203 which has its mirrors set to autofold.
Not only is it a nice thing to have for obvious reasons, it also gives me quick and easy visual confirmation that my car is actually locked.

The very reason I also use the auto fold function! A quick glance across the car park, see mirrors are folded, car is locked :D

No not atall, Thats wot it is there for, wiring damage may only occour after years of use, not just ocassoinally.
