Howdy all,

Ive been doing some reading and research, and apparently my 1990 560SEL's rough idle symptoms are concurrent with a worn out injector. Just wondering what you guys thought? if you need more info check my last post, rough idling.

thanks all! :D

Before you invest in a new set of Injectors you may wish to consider my experience.

Similar problem on my 500SEL but not quite as you describe. i.e. Starts fine from cold. If left for half an hour when hot, will not start properly, very erratic running for first (perhaps only) 30 seconds. Then smooth as you like again.

I replaced the injectors at a cost of over £100 + labour and it did not sort the problem though may have made a slight difference.

I can let you have eight probably perfectly good injectors which I tried to sell on eay for £12 + p&p if you are interested. They include the Sleeves (which cost an extra £15).

I have tried all sorts of replacement parts to try to solve the problem. Tuning, New Dist Cap, Rotor Arm, Fuel pump, fuel pump cut off valve, Kickdown Relay, Over Voltage Relay, all to no avail.

When I took out one of the plugs before the injectors were replaced i was amazed as it looked brand new. I have not replaced them so done I don't know how many thousands of miles since owning the car. Very clean light powder - no soot.

I have now decided it must be the Idle Control Valve or the Cold start valve.
Not prepared to pay the price for a Cold Start Valve but have ordered a replacement ICV at great expense. Awaiting its arrival from the USA as price from there in Dollars is the equivalent to price from Europarts in Sterling. Also, Euro don't seem to have the correct Engine numbers for the car, so...

Suggest take your time before spending your money.

OOPS - just seen your location might be expensive to ship injectors?
