For those that think "AMG Line" = “AMG" here is some clarification

The inappropriate badge thread says it all.
A MB enthusiast will know the difference. A relative newbie perhaps wet behind the ears may not and may well be "proud" owning an AMG (line).

Yes I saw a while ago the troll on that thread winding some people up. IMHO there is nothing wrong with owning an AMG Line car, it's just that it is not an AMG.Most people will/should know the difference when buying one. Especially when it comes to the price.

So AMG Line is MB feeding you a line that your car is almost an AMG, just not quite, well not even, in fact just some over priced shiny bits.

No not really - it's a way for owners to specify some cosmetic improvements in the "style" of an AMG Mercedes. But the point is that a set of Alloys or a bodykit does not make the car a true AMG edition, just a normal Mercedes with some AMG accessories added. Nothing wrong with that of course.

We all have different budgets, and I guess this allows some people to compromise on what they want, and what they want to pay.

But if the owners think they have one, good for them.
Blame the dealers for badging them so.

BTW, my shed has AMG mats, body kit and the AMG logo on the alloys. Should I buy the badge for the rear?

Is that a Mercedes Dealership that adds AMG badges or a second hand dealer?

Video only applies to the GLC though, so all other models require their own YouTube. Perhaps one describing the difference between a Maybach and an AMG too?
