thats external suppliers for you. The only option you had was to order a car like you did and these things happen, or buy a car from stock which may not be what you wanted.

2 ways to look at it.

1. be disapointed.
2. be elated when it arrives. it isnt the end of the world.

So here is how i think. I found out yesterday that my right foot is damaged beyond repair. to overcome the ligament disruption, I have to strengthen my lower leg muscles at the side. If I do not my foot will flop about as it does at the moment and will be weak.
On the plus side, I can fall over on it in the future and not do any further damage to it as it is damaged as bad as it will ever get short of being ripped off or mashed up.

do i

1. Be disapointed
2. get out of bed and get on the with the rest of my life with a smile on my face. I mite get squashed by a bus tommorrow.

you choose!

ps. if you think i am being a bit harsh, dont. I am just making the point that you can feel upset if you like but it wont help anything so think of it as a wedding day. If the best man falls face first in the cake, what could you do about it. would it really ruin anything or would you laugh it off and talk about happily for the rest of your life? The car will arrive as you ordered it. You will enjoy it. look forwards not back. look up not down. how bad really is it? it has just been delayed. it happens.

Go make a cup of coffee, take 4 long breaths and it will turn out okay.

Forwards and onwards.

Hi SLinKy - thanks

another reminder that there are problems and problems - and on the scale of things this isn't a problem at all. I had already decided I was looking forward to it maybe a llittle overenthusiastically.

and on the plus side
am ordering the bluetooth hands free kit recommended on this forum
am ordering the ipod integration kit that will then be available
I get more time to find some new sunglasses.....existng ones are blue, and
i couldn't have ordered my engine from stock so am still pleased with my decision

Oh my! I was in Oz a few years back and needed some new sunglasses. whilst in Sunglasses hut in Brisbane I mentioned my car was silver. and so i got a pair of red lens with grey arms RayBans. choosen by the sales girlie top match my car. then I bought a black car and choose red leather at £900 to match the lens rather than buy new sunglasses.

They are now scratched and I need some new ones...so I guess I shall buy some when I change the slinkymobile. that way I can colour co-ordinate both and look as cool as a Middle aged baldy fat bloke with sunglasses on does in an open top car with vacant passenger seat on a hot sunny day in the dales.

Now that I have said that I may buy a Focus/Golf/Astra and hide unnoticed amongst the throngs of sheep!!! You can pick up decent sunglasses at boots for a fiver now. I am told! And a flat cap.

How do Non UK wheels get fitted? Surely they can drive a car or van from Germany to here in 24hrs? And as it is their fault I would have expected them to do something at least.

Have you spoke with your dealer?

Nice, if unpleasant description!

Do you drive several types of 911 and BMW Z4's near where I live? And every Boxster I have ever seen?

top stuff. my dealer had my car roped off in the showroom on wednesday with a sign on welcoming me. i have never actually seen so many envious people watching as i climbed in and embarrassed myself pressing the brake pedal and stopping insatntly. bit keen new brakes.

plus i was in jeans, trainers and a t-shirt with the words, " i am up and dressed, what more do you want?" on the front. i really looked the part.

hope everything goes well when you get it.

I read from the virtual manual that I have 1500km of good behaviour to look forward to. (why do automatic cars have driver manuals?....)
