fraustrated please help

I just purchased a c220 cdi 2000 from italy. my intrument cluster reads taxi electrics defect (visit workshop) when this comes on my a.c shuts off and other electric components seizes to work. star corrects the problem when you recode it as a taxi but overnight its as if the car resets itself and comes up with the same malfunction message on the intrument cluster in the mornings. anybody with ideas to curb this. kind regards

Hello and welcome. the taxi meter has been removed, but the car is still looking for it via the CAN bus, the car must be plugged into STAR and the SAM where this info is stored must be removed and told that it does not have a taxi meter anymore, or you re fit a taxi meter and earn some pocket money

Star was used to remove the taxi coding but the problem appeared overnight again. any ideas on where its stored on the sam so we try that out or how to properly disable the taxi using star. thanks

after removing the code my odometer read 999999... . forgot to add that

Its codings will be in the front sam, EIS and possible rear sam, guess you got the highest milage on the club now!!

the taxi multifunction unit is not responding to the EIS which means its not present. from the chasis number with the dealership i was told the taxi feature was not factory pre-installed. my problem here is the problem gets solved when star is used but overnight it restores that error. is there a memory module failing. kindly help the poor first timer.

I am 99% certain that the STAR is being used incorrectly to remove the info, it appears again as the car still thinks that it has a meter, it needs someone that knows STAR well to remove it

will the code be removed if the intrument cluster has compatibility issues. your reply highly awaited

I have the Taxi meter install info, all I can do is to print this off later in the day and let you have it

If you call Taxitronic in Nottigham, I dont have the number I'm affraid they may be able to help, they had a C Class Estate as a demo car last time I was there so they should be able to shead some light if the dealership is not been overly helpful
