No you can pick up a set of spring compressors from most tool supply stores even try halfords .When doing the job support boby of car high enough so bottom arm can drop to the maximum'this way you can get easy access to fit new spring.

Halfords spring compressors are no good. You need the type that screw internally. There is not enough space betwwen the coils for the usual type of compressor.
I changed all the springs on mine without a compressor but I wouldn't recommend it

Mercedes springs are the best for the car and i reckon Koni shocks are about the best for a standard car. They are a bit stiffer than the Mercedes shocks but they last just as long and perform very well. The rear springs and shocks are easy, the front is not dead hard but the Mercedes spring compressor is the easiest and quickest way to do the fronts. Whilst you are that far in, why not check suspension bushes as well. They are relatively inexpensive and make all the difference. If you experience and sideways wallow at motorway speeds and you know the tire pressures are correct, chances are you have worn bushes on either the back or both back and front. Worth looking for and if you can have a 1/2" drive windy gun to hand, it will be a doddle.
