Can anyone give me any hints and tips on how to remove the front speakers in my 300C 24 ?  I don't want to start damaging trim but it looks like the little trim strips have to come off first. Right ?

Many thanks.

Hi Steve,

The removal of the front speakers is very simple. Flick the little thin trim up with a small electrical screw driver. Underneath you will find two small phillips headed screws. Remvoe them, and hay presto speakers.

Watch how you prise the speakers themselves out. They tend to be fairly tight.

While were on the subject of speakers, my 190 has only got speakers in the front, ive fitted a new CD player, and to be honest they dont really do it justice. I was thinking about fitting some decent 6x9's on the back shelf, but again, im not keen on cutting the shelf about. Did any 190's come with rear speakers at all? if so, can they be installed with the minimum of cutting and slicing?!!

cheers

The 190e rear speaker option is for a 6" speaker!
I don't think this will do justice either.
Pop the rear seat base off and u will see 3 screws at the base of the backrest, remove these and silde the back upwards, hey presto parcel shelf edge now exposed. Remove the first aid kit box and the shelf is very easy to remove.
I have JVC 6"X9" on mine and it sounds very good indeed
