There is slight play in the front wheel bearing passenger side of my car. Is it possible to adjust it to reduce the play? What type of grease goes into the bearing? Can I put new grease in without removing the bearing assembly?

Depends what type of bearing it is. Take the grease cap off, if theres a big nut in there, remove the split pin and put your spanner on. Not too much though, you wont do it any favours by over tightening it.

As the above answer but do it up tight, and back off turning the wheel so that you cannot feel the balls as the wheel rotates, then back off ane more flat on the nut. If you over tighten it will get to hot and you will lose all of the grease.

Thanks lads. I was going to put high melting point moly grease in if it looks like it needs some.

You probably have a 'clamp nut'. Slacken the pinchbolt on this, and tighten the clamp nut fingertight until any perceptible axial play in the wheel is ONLY JUST removed, then retighten the pinchbolt.
Half-fill the grease cap and tap home. I also use moly grease.
